John Anthony's Comments/Reviews

Hey girls! I went to see John Anthony's today and absolutely loved it! However, I want feedback...reviews... negative and positive! Food, service...etc.... Thanks!

I went there years ago and it was one of the best weddings I have been to. A guy I work with had his daughters wedding there last year and they were very happy with them. The only thing I would check into is wether or not they are staying in business. There was some talk of the business being sold a few months ago. Check into it, not that I want to give bad news but it would be better to go in with your eyes open. Nothing beats the view there though.

Do a search under John Anthony. They did file chapter 11 in late august early sept.

I don't know how to do that thread thing but this should work for the one link.

Re: John Anthony's Comments/Reviews

Hi! I know they have been getting a bad rap lately but can I just say it was the most PERFECT place to have a wedding. The food...AWESOME, the service...AWESOME every little piece of the day was perfect!!! I am still (4 months later) getting compliments on how beautiful the wedding was and how great the food was!! I really couldn't have asked for more. Here is my review from the BRidal Review Board......

And last but not least JOHN ANTHONYS ON THE WATER....A+++++++++++++ I give this to them because they truly deserve it!!!! From the moment we booked we knew we made the right choice. If you are thinking of booking here, don't double guess yourself...They were PERFECT!!!!!!!! Like I said before, people are still calling us and writing us telling us it was the BEST wedding they've EVER been to!!! I heard the cocktail hour was fabulous. So MUCH really GREAT food. The only thing Ken and I ate was the shrimp and scallops and it was UNBELIEVABLE. Ken wants to be invited to someones wedding there b/c we missed all othe coktail hour food!!! We actaully attended our ENTIRE cocktail hour but beware, when you do this everyone pulls you in all directions so you can't eat. Later we saw SO MUCH food in the bridal suite but never ate it First course was tomato and mozz on greens. Heard it was good but didnt try it. It looked pretty though. Second course was Manicotti, I loved it and heard from many peopoe how uch they loved it as well. Main course was Filet Mignon and Chicken Franchese or Salmon. We got all three. The Filet was excellent and the Salmon was excellent. The chicken was a little dry (my ONLY complaint) but still tasty. The cake was beautiful and SO GOOOOOOOD!!!!! I usually don't like wedding cakes but I ate mine the next day and couldn't believe how soft and tasty it was. We got chocolate cake iwth cholcoate mousse. SO GOOD!!!! Like I said before, they used the wrong cake top but it still looked pretty. The ice cream dessert was DELICIOUS, I ate mine and KENS!!!!!! They sent us home with so many cookies and pastries (and fruit).

The service was AMAZING!!!!!!!! Not only did they treat Ken and I like Royalty (they really did) but they did the same with all of our guests. They ALWAYS had a drink in hand (without asking) and they were PERFECT!!!!!

Lorraine (I think) was the bridal attendant and she was great. We always had two drinks at our table
and she was so sweet. The maitrd was Colleen (again I think) and she too was great!!! They were great from the second walked in until the second we left.

I kid you not. It was the most perfect place for a wedding ( would have been even nicer if the weather was pretty:( ) The funny thing is people think we went broke having it there. My aunt actually asid to my mom,' I've been to many, many weddings at all the major catereing halls on Long Island and I'll guarantee they paid at least $225 per person'....Not even close but that's the impression John Anthonys left. Enough said

Any questions please fell free to FM me

I was originally booked at JA's. I really haven't seen anything negative about the actual services or food. I think the main question should be whether or not the Chapter 11 bankruptcy concerns you. My FH and I decided it did, so we got our deposit back and booked somewhere else. If you are not concerned about that, then of course I would recommend it. I really loved the place and it was a difficult decision to make.
