COMING TO THE YANKS?????????

YAY OR NAY?

Re: Johnson

While, he is a great pitcher, i really think they need to get some young talent. He's what, going to be able to pitch for 2, 3 more years before he retires?

The Yankees really need to stop focusing on the 'here and now' and turn their sights to the 'up and coming' so they can get a nice, solid team running for the future.

Well it looks like he is going ot be a Yankee

Re: Johnson

I don't want Johnson. He and his ugly mullet can stay away.

I don't care if he IS a good pitcher.

DH called him a big ugly turkey.

:-P

Re: Johnson

i agree that he is ugly (not that i should judge anyone, but you have to admit that he isnt exactly 'easy on the eyes' ). I actually think he looks like An attack Ostrich, but thats just me.

But, luckily, its not a beauty contest.... its Baseball And although i Hate how the yankees always seem to go for the 'approaching retirement' players, and i feel that they need to really start looking at more younger prospects, i have to admit that he is the first pitcher to come to the team that i am actually feeling Confident about. I think he'll make a good addition,,, and we just have to hope that he's got at least a few good years left in him!

(and that he doesnt suffer from the yankee curse- everytime a good player comes to NY, they fall into a rut and suck for a while)

Re: Johnson

My comments about Johnson being ugly are not my only reason for not wanting him on the team. I think he's egotistical, and I don't think he'll be a good addition to the team.

I, of course, mainly want the Yankees to win, but I also think that there is a standard to which Yankees should meet, and Johnson Does Not fit that standard.

Big NAY right now. LA backed out of the deal.

Re: Johnson

in response to his mullet - if the yanks get him - at least he won't have that

Though - FH is convinced all of Giambi's power was in his hair and that's why he hasn't been that great since he came to the yankee's - hopefully that is the case with johnson

If looks don't matter then why does George make them cut their hair? To look good? This is sports, you shouldn't have to look pretty.

Anyways I think Johnson is a great pitcher but he is an ugly brut. I don't care what he shaves off, he still is an ugly duckling. Personally I don't think shoving a reporter is a good way to make a first impression. You are in NY now, a big city not the little farm town you come from. He is not used to the media. Well if you want to play in NY and be a New Yorker then you better start getting used to how we do things around here. This is not the south.

Most of your comments make no sense quite honestly, but I will reply to this part:

My opinion is simple: for how much George is paying his players, he can ask them to do ANYTHING he wants - especially if its something as simple as cutting their hair or shaving their facial hair

Hell I'd shave my own head if I were getting the types of contracts these players are getting

Bwaaaaaaaaaaahahahahah! Thanks for the laugh of my day!!

Queen of the Boards? Well thank you!! I guess I will wear that crown proudly, though I do need over 10,000 posts to be considered a 'princess'

I never said my comments always make perfect sense - those are your words.

But I will say that I do contribute a bit more to these boards than you do - who only goes our of their way to seek out threads relating to teams you dislike, and goes about making juvenile comments about their players being babies or being ugly.

A REAL FAN would be a little more educated in their arguments

Uh - hello? READ before you type, sweetie. I know you aren't a Yankee fan. Which makes it more absurd that you even went onto this forum. Must be really bored these days, huh?

I said you GO ONTO THREAD OF TEAMS YOU DISLIKE and make CHILDISH, STUPID comments - such as the one you just posted above.

And after seeing how you present yourself in your posts, I'm thrilled that you aren't a Yankee fan!!!!

And I not only have good friends who are Mets fans, but my husband is too - and you are giving them a bad name..

But I stay off the Mets board, perhaps you should do the same on the Yankee forum

Bye bye now!

thank you Jenn

But as everyone can see, I am not yet even a Princess such as yourself -- let alone a QUEEN! So I still bow down to you

But hell at least we can humor ourselves in the off season anyhow -- my 'royal appointment' was one of the many SILLY , JUVENILE COMMENTS from a certain person who decided to barge in and post nonsense on this thread
