We're going to start one today to deposit all of our wedding money in to. Which bank do you recommend? Which type of account do you recommend? My mom also recommended getting a few CD's so that we make a lil money and aren't tempted to spend it!

Re: Joint Checking Account
me and fh have a few joint accounts...we have a checking account w/capitalone /northfork (we like it!) ...we also have a joint savings with Emigrant online ..they had alot better rate when we started it back in october (was 5.05 % now it dropped to 2.85 % ) ...we love it though...we have it linked to the capital one account and every 2 weeks they transfer $ to the online emmigrant...its hasslefree and no work!!!!

Re: Joint Checking Account
we're thinking of opening a joint money market account...that way we get checks and earn interest on the money without locking the money for months at a time.
if you are interested in opening cd accounts, i receommend GMAC bank...they have a nice rate right now for 6 month cds. But rates change all the time, so check out http://bankrate.com to search for good cd rates.

Re: Joint Checking Account
We are at Wamu as well! but the girls on LIW suggested ING for the savings so we have 2 now, we moved most of our savings to ING and keep some in Wamu.

Re: Joint Checking Account
check out wamu, they have an online savings acct that makes 3.25%, fh and i opened one back in october and weve made a nice chunk of change from the interest we/ve been collecting (at the time we were making over 5%)

Re: Joint Checking Account
We have a joint savings with ING direct. The interest is high but you can access the money penalty free which isn't the case with CDs as far as I know. When we move in or after the wedding we will do a joint checking with Wamu... that's where we both bank,

Re: Joint Checking Account
I love Bank of America...it's so easy to transfer between accounts and their billpay is easy to use. FH and I each have our own checking accounts and we have a joint checking. We're going to get a joint savings through ING in the next few weeks because they have a great interest rate.
