jordan almonds......

Jordan almonds, a favorite at most weddings, are centered on Middle Eastern weddings. This favor dictates that you give 5 pieces to each guest to represent the five wedding wishes: fertility, health, wealth, happiness and longevity. The almond is candy coated representing the bitter and the sweet of marriage.

I didn't know this!!! I've never even been to a wedding where they gave out jordan almonds. I want to try one now....are they just like a big m&m??

lol They are like a big, hard, sugar coated, almond!

They are very good. I made sure we had 5 in each favor as well to keep with tradition.

I will say that if you decide to use them for your wedding, go to economycandy.com!!! I just loved them to death.

Go and get some and try them, b/c they are num yummy..and you wont be able to stop eating them.

Jordan almonds at weddings, all celebrations really, is an Italian tradition. They're expected by guests. In Italian-American tradition, the Jordan almonds are not the favor.. they actually come wrapped in tulle and accompany the favor. In Italy, the almonds themselves are the favor most times.

They're good. They also have ones with chocolate.

yea the jordan almond has an extensive history...i could totally see it being italian/middle eastern/greek....all those places are soo close together and their histories have interlocked many times from ottoman empire to present so their cultures have def crossed paths....good concept though cos' i like almonds, i wonder if i would like jordan almonds
