JOVAN Photography?

I did not use them but I saw their work on the walls when I went to get my veil and headpiece. Denise Leli works inside their studio. They look like they do Beautiful work though. We used Sherwood Triart and they were GREAT. I recieved my proofs a few weeks ago and I just got my thank you pictures back. They came out wonderful. They are excellent to work with and my photographers were so nice and did an excellent job. I was very happy with my pictures. Worth taking a look at.

I used Jovon. Their photographers are amazing. I used Telmo and Vittorio. I had my e-pics done in Central Park and they are framed in my office. I get compliments on them everyday from my clients. The wedding proofs (we got 1,000 of them) are incredible! And I love my thank you cards, which are 5x7 cards with the picture printed right on them (we used the pic in my avatar).

I did have some issues with them. The person I originally booked with (summer of 2002) was fired for multiple reasons. Some of my issues were b/c of her. She did not record the name of the original photojournalist I chose and had to choose another one the week before my wedding. It caused a lot of grief and stress, but Vittorio ended up being wonderful, so it ended well.

Then when I went in to do the layout and choose which pictures would go in the album. The woman I met with then has since been fired and 'messed up' the layout before it went to the developers. So when I got to see them before they matted them they were wrong. I live out of state, so I had to wait 4 months until I was in NY again to relayout the pages. When I came in again, this past December, I met with Liz and Jovon. They were great - so nice and attentive. I am so excited to see the pictures. They are mailing them to me here to view and then I'll send them back to be matted. Once its all done, I'll post an update.

Quality and pictures are great - best I've ever seen - and that is what I'll have forever, so knowing all of this, would I still have booked them - definitely!

I'm so confused - I've heard some of the BEST and WORST stories about this photographer.... they did a great job at my friend's wedding, but now I'm also hearing some horror stories.

The photographer decision has been the most difficult one for me! NO idea what to do!

FSIL had a very bad experience with both photo and video. She got married August 2003 and is still fighting with them.
Their photographer took some, let's say, tasteless photos, and her video just ended, no recap or anything.

My other FSIL cancelled her contract with them because of it, she wanted the same photographer!

I'm sure most of them are good, just giving my opinion from what I heard...

Hi! I had the same problem as you - I heard a lot of good things about Jovan as well as a lot of negative things...and the negative things really turned me off so in the end, I decided to go with Creative Compositions. You should DEFINITELY check out Creative Compositions! So far, I've had a great experience with them - my e-pics were incredible, the customer service is great and the people there are just so sweet (and talented!). My brother got married in November and also used them and his wedding pictures were the best I've ever seen. They are based in Oyster Bay, Long Island. I see you're having your wedding in the city and Long Island might seem like a trek to you, but they are WELL WORTH IT! We are using Ernie and Jovanna (and my brother used them as well) and they are amazing! I can't say enough good things about them! If you have any questions, please let me know!

i am using Jovon for my photography i am not using them for video- there pictures are amazing and i would say comparable to creative- i had the opposite feeling i felt creative compositions was pushy and way overpriced for the same quality as jovon- i know two people who used them and DIDNT have any problems- i am using Telmo and not sure who for the photojournalist- i have had nothing but great customer service- i say you have to go with your gut instict if you feel comfortable then book them
