Jovon, Jack Roman, etc....photographer help!

I would really appreciate ANY input on the two photograpers/and or photo studio listed above.

We need to make a decision, and all the previous posts I have found on these two are pretty dated.

I found Jack Roman's website after I booked my Photographer. Had I not, I would have looked into him. I think his work is amazing! I know that he books through Mark Kauffman Studios, but also on his own as well.

I would definitely check him out if you like B&W and candids...that seems to be his thing.

Someone I know used Jack through Mark and really liked his work and personality. But I think he ONLY shoots in B/W.

I had a bad experience with Jovon when I was shopping around -- their pictures were beautiful, but I found that Jovon was very dismissive of my questions. I've also heard from two brides that worked with him that the studio is very unresponsive after your wedding -- that it takes waaaay longer to get your proofs and albums back then at other places... In the end though, everyone has good things to say about the pictures, its just a headache to get them!

I saw some of Jack's work and thought it was very good. I spoke to him once when I was looking for a photographer. He said he would call me back to let me know if he was available but never did. I believe Sonicstef is right-I think he only shoots in black & white.

We are using Jack Roman. Yes - he only shoots in black and white - but was able to hire for us a color photographer to be with us for about an hour for the more formal shots. He's a very nice guy, and extremely artistic. Highly recommend him!

I have many friends who have used Jovan and loved his work I most likely will be using him myself I have not really seen any one who compares

One of my best friends used Jovon and while he attempted some creative shots with the bridal party, a mutual friend of ours (who is a photographer herself) recommended that I not use him, since the actual photos our friend ordered after her wedding where printed darker than they should have been.
Still, some other friends did use Jovon's studio again, and their entire wedding album turned out 'soft' as she put it...meaning, all their photos were out of focus.
Buyer beware is all I will say.

Thanks ladies...met with Jack today, really nice guy!! I enjoyed chatting with him and looking through his work. i got a positive vibe, so looks like thats where we are going

Photographer and Florist done in the last 24 hours, now we just need reception music (less than 45 days to go )
