what exactly is their role? other than to dress up look pretty and feel special?
FHs niece is 14 and when we got engaged she mentioned that she would love to be a BM
and one of my very close cousins, 15 yrs old- also mentioned the same
at first i thought it was silly...but now i feel bad and i want them to be a part of our day
im thinking, what is it to me, other than 2 extra bouquets i have to pay for?

It's really your call, I know I'm having one (my 'little sister' - she'll be 14 by the time of the wedding), but it's someone I really couldn't imagine not including. If the only reason you'd consider having them in your BP is b/c they want to be then I'd say no reason to spend the $ on flowers and find some other way to make them feel included; but if you are close with them and would like them as part of it in that way then go for it.

I had a Jr. Bridesmaid. This is how I thought of it -- she was too old (11) to be a Flowergirl and too young to be a bridesmaid. If she were older she would have been a bridesmaid.
She loved every second of it. She didn't wear the same dress as my BM but it coordinated. Her bo-k was a little smaller then the rest. I got her the same gift as the girls.
If you really want to do it. If they were older were you have them as bridesmaid? If so then there is no difference.

I say do it! I will be having two.. both of them are my Fh's nieces and they are too cute, and I want them in the wedding, but they are way to young to be BM but too old for FG. So I think that it is a cute way to include them!

i am having two as well. like someone else mentioned they are too young to be a BM, too young for a FG. My Jr BM's are 10 and 13.

their like flower girls as far as roles are concerned - they just look pretty on your day. if you want, you could assign them little tasks such as handing out programs.
