What are people's thoughts on a wedding the night before July 4th? Specifically July 3rd, 2012 (its a Tuesday)

We got married on July 3rd...it was a friday and we had no complaints and loved it! It was the perfect weekend. I know quite a few people who have gotten married on that date...no worries there!

I think it is a good idea because most people will take off for the 4th of July anyways.

I wanted to get married 4th of July weekend, but at least half of our guests are driving up 95 from DC...and we thought that would be cruel!

i think its a great idea and if your rh is on the water there is a chance you will see fireworks! fh and i always spend the night before 4th of july cruising on our boat and looking for fireworks

I think thats a great idea. People are off the next day so they can party all night. Plus it would definitely save you money. People that want to go to your wedding will take July 3rd off. Just give them enough notice of your date.

We were going to get married that date at oheka castle because we got a great deal unfortunatelyy my family had A LOT to say........

Oh no :( What happened?
I ran it by my family last night and they seemed OK with it. They did say it might be weird on a Tues and I'd have to see if the church would marry me on a Tues, but other than that, they didn't seem to mind. I'd have to see what FH's family says. They would all be traveling from PA for the wedding.

i think its a great idea! thats the date i wanted but would've had almost 2 year engagment and didnt want that .....most people have off the next day or will take off and you will get great $$$$....do it!!!!

If your family is okay with it then 100% go for it... I was going for it...but my family is opinionated and stubborn...as is his family...I got screwed oheka was my dreammmmmm...everyones situation is different though so don't let me stop you I still think its a great idea
