I would also have to say I would make an attempt to pick another day.

Many people take their vacations around that time. And if you have a lot of family traveling I can tell you holiday weekends are MUCH more expensive to travel. I feel bad asking my FH to come home for my graduation because it is about 60$ more a ticket for that weekend. Hotels are also more expensive holiday weekends b/c more people are on vacation so they often are peak prices.

If everyone is local then I would say go for it. But expect a larger than average group to say that they cannot make it

My Wedding date is 7/4/04, so I think it's a great idea. It's YOUR Wedding Day and I think you should do whatever your heart desires. I feel that the most important people will be there for you and if the other guests want to come they'll be there if not then too bad cause they're missing out.
