I hope to finish flowers, STD's, hotel contracts and my veil by the end of the summer. I am FINALLY finished teaching summer school so I have 2 weeks off.

Yes and no. I was engaged last October so I have had a lot more time to look. Also, I live in Staten Island and FH lives in LI so it is much harder for me to make appointments. I am also looking for a place to live and a new job in LI.
You have more than enough time to pick everything. I just want to get a lot done before the school year gets busy again.

I hope I get my summer list finished before school starts. Otherwise, I am barely out here. I am also confused with hair and makeup. It doesn't help that I don't live in LI yet.

I don't live in LI either, which makes it all complicated! We live in Brooklyn, and really don't have any ties to LI, except for the fact that we wanted to get married in a beautiful place on the water. So I haven't decided if I want to get hair/make-up done here in BK, or stay in a hotel the night before and have someone come to me. ..... make things more complicated, my hairdresser is in Manhattan, and gd knows what he'd charge to go out to LI if I wanted him! I'm a teacher too, and have vacationed all summer, and now am determined to book dj, photographer, and florist before school ... possible?

If you get moving it's possible. Where do you teach?
Just call places tomorrow and search on here for reviews. I find that appointments are not as easy to get in the summer.

I teach in Brooklyn, and I I love it! I am such a procrastinator, the summer just got away from me.... I have ideas for everything, and do read here for ideas religiously, its just putting plans into action -- gotta get moving!

I taught summer school and it just ended yesterday! I am a procrastinator too, which is why I need some wedding stuff done before school begins. I also made dentist, dermatologist and doctor appointments!

By the end of the month, I should be done with videographer, officiant and flowers too.

Haha, I'm actually kinda similar! I wasn't off, but my job is so boring that I did crazy amount of research on everything. I know what I want/need--I just need to time to go get it!

Done... RH church DJ limos hotel for OOT guests photographer flowers( mom is doing bouqets) favors...idea is set but I am doing soemthing edible so I can't put it together yet BM dresses picked honeymoon booked my dress...mom is making so design is picked and she has to get moving!

We have the church and reception location.
We picked out invitiations, started looking at rings and have several appointments with photographers and florists over the next month.
My cousin works for a large hotel chain so hotels are taken care of.
My dress is ordered and I have my veil, barrettes, and jewelry for the day of.
I know who is doing my hair but make-up is still unknown.
Also in the works is a visit to try on BM dresses.
We want to have everything done by January when we start pre-cana.
