Jumping dogs...help!
Re: Jumping dogs...help!
I always keep the lease on her when people come over, cause she pretty much only jumps the first 10 minutes or so, so i hold her on the leash and when she tries i say NO... and then once she is not so excited i let her go... it works ok for me.. try it...

I bought a 'no-Jump' harness from fostersandsmith.com.. it worked really well & now all I have to do is hold up the harness & my dog behaves.

Re: Jumping dogs...help!
We use a squirt bottle with water in it...whenever the dogs jump on someone, they get a squirt of water...now, all they have to do is see that bottle and they don't jump. It worked very quickly...only problem..you have to squirt them when they're jumping, not after, so you have to walk around with that bottle for a bit.
Re: Jumping dogs...help!
we had our dog trained - he also had his place where he stayed until he got the ok once guests had arrived and settled - he bum rushed them still but at leat they were comfortable!
Re: Jumping dogs...help!
we brought our dog to a trainer and it helped alot. Our puppy jumped all over everyone and use to run into their legs almost knocking them down and the training stopped all of that. Now she sits until we give her to ok to greet the guests. : )
