Are there any brides out there who are jumping the broom? If so where did you get your broom from? I wanted to decorate mine myself but i can't find anyone who sells brooms.

Michaels. if u go in there and ask them for a broom they will not know what u r talking abt. u have to look in the aisles yourself

What is jumping the broom?
THe short version: its an african american tradition. Its when bride and groom jumps over a broom at the end of the cer or beginning of reception. It was done back in slavery as a way to legitimize a marriage (since slaves were not allowed to get married). It also means sweeping out the old and brining in the new.
