Jury Duty Question!!

I have to start calling in tonight for jury duty next week. Just incase I have to go, what can I wear?? Is jeans and a nice top good?? It says no jeans on the back, but last time I did it I wore jeans and had no problem. I mean seriously, what are they going to do, kick me out??? Good, I don't wanna be there anyway!! Thanks!!

i think when i had to go i wore khakis and a sweater.

it says it on your card what you can wear...
its mostly business casual items

Make sure you bring a book or something to read...Last time I went I finished 320 pages of a book I was reading.

I got the jury dutie letter too.. I had to call friday & I have to call back monday to find out where to go. Are you in Suffolk too?

One more question...Do you think I will have a problem tomorrow...My jury summons has my maiden name on it and all my ID, SS card and everything has my new married name. Somehow that never got changed. Are they going to give me trouble? I found and old license with my maiden name that I am going to bring just incase.

I'm in Nassau! At least I can go home for lunch and relax a bit and not have to run after kids all day, so that will be nice!

I had that happen to me when i got my jury duty card to call in it was under my maiden name... No you should not get in trouble for it. hopefully you wont get called i lucked out i had a very high number. gl

I went a month ago, I made sure to bring my marriage license with me, if they needed to they could have made a copy. I had a medical excuse and was out of there by 9:15 am, they wrote something on the summons that means to change the name in the computer for next time. Hope you do not get called. There were some real weirdos when I had to go. It was my first time and i was not happy I had to even go. Good luck and bring a good book. I wore black jean leggings and a sweater and shoes.

Don't think the name should be an issue - bring marriage license if you are worried.
BRING SOMETHING TO DO!!! I cannot stress this enough - I was in NYC and lots of folks just came with a paper and then were losing it the rest of the day.
