Does that mean I actually have to go? It says to call after feb 28th and will be told where to report.
It starts feb 28th...How long does it last? My last day at work pre-wedding is the 9th of march? Thats only 9 days after the summons 'start date'...should I postpone??

Re: jury summons
I think it usually lasts about a week, if you start calling on the 28th, you might be just calling every day until they call your 'number', which would only be until Friday, at least thats been my experience. I've gone and sat there all day and then would never get called to actually serve on a jury. When they call your numer, that is when you report to where they say, the message that you call is pretty self explanatory.

Re: jury summons
I would call them & tell them that you are getting married on the 11th of March & see what they advise you to do...If you go on the 28th, what happens if you get on a case!!!

Re: jury summons
it should only last a week for the call-ins, and if you should have to report and are interviewed to be on a jury, just let them know you are about to be married when they ask if there's any reason why you would not be able to serve on a jury. they're pretty understanding!

Re: jury summons
Last time I had it, I was told that you are on call for a week. I was told to report one day, and I wasn't selected for a jury, so I was excused for the rest of the week.

I think there are different levels- depending on what you did, ( if you wer on a trial, if you were sequestered) your grace period varies.

Re: jury summons
Oh ok. Because I know I was there in 2001 and I didn't serve on a jury, but I had to sit there all day....
Then I got another one and I am on standby this week. I was going to call and complain because it was not 6 years, but didn't bother. I would love to not trek into the City, so I don't mind having to go..
So maybe becuase I didn't actually serve they call upon me again in 4 years.

Re: jury summons
Every since they started calling me, I get a notice every 4 years, like clockwork. I don't know how they can say this is random, I have friends who have never been called on. I got my questionairre a little over a month ago, so I'm sure my summons will soon follow and it will be my 3rd one.

a woman I work with gets called exactly every 4 years as well. I just got my first questionaire--but to my parents address, where they still think I am registered to vote even though I re-regsitered & voted in a different address. I just moved AGAIN, & my license isn't updated, so it is all a mess. I just sent back the form, hoping it will confuse them enough to postpone summing me for a while.
