Just called City Hall...

Just called City Hall...

So I called the local city hall in Westchester County and they told me I need my original birth certificate. (for marriage liscense)

Here's the problem...it's at my parents house in Italy!!!!!!!! My mother and I found it in a draw last summer and we even said to eachother we should take this home with us. Yea....we forgot it there!

So now we have to either go to the city, the Bronx (in a bad neighborhood) or wait till my relatives come in on the 25th and hope they can get it from my parent's house. Not sure if we locked it in a chest!

I am pretty sure that you can get your license anywhere in the state of NY to get married- I'll see if I can find it online- and then you can just go to the city & bring your license.

i went to the one in queens on queens boulevard and i only used a drivers license, they only ask for 1 photo id. Not sure if you can go there or any place in the 5 boroughs actually bc from what i know they all ask for just 1 photo ID. Its for your NYS marriage license so should be able to

The Marriage License
Where do you get one?
A couple who intends to be married in New York State must apply in person for a marriage license to any town or city clerk in the state. The application for a license must be signed by both the bride and groom in the presence of the town or city clerk. A representative cannot apply for the license on behalf of the bride or groom. This applies even if the representative has been given the Power of Attorney. Notarized marriage license affidavits signed by the bride or groom cannot be substituted for their personal appearance.

I'm pretty sure I can...the only problem is it's so out of the way. We are pressed for time...I just feel so stressed...there is so much going on in the next couple of weeks before the wedding! I leave for SB, FL on the 20th and FH is limited on his days since he will be using a lot for the wedding and the honeymoon.

AHHH!!!!!!!

We got ours at City Hall and then had a nice lunch in the village afterwards...make a day of it and maybe it won't feel so bad you had to go so far...

well the closest one to you is in the bronx right? go there early in the morning, shouldn't take that long and just tell your jobs you'll be an hour late or so, that might be better than taking the day off.

Thank you for your help Denise! It's just not that easy for us I don't have a prob taking a day off...I purposely didn't use any during the school year (not that I do anyway) but I planned on using days at the end if the yr if I needed to do anything wedding related. So I have tons of days and an awesome principal! FH has a lot of scheduled radio interviews that he has to do at specific times so its hard to just say he'll be in late!

I dunno! We'll figure something out!

Thanks again!

Oh...any word on Joe's suitcase?

The Bronx location is actually not in a bad neighorhood at all. It's right on Grand Concourse which is always full of people and stuff, but, it's right by Yankee Stadium so just don't head down before a game is about to start.

I did this too. Just because I realized I don't have it and I'm bound to need it. I have my baptisimal cert too, but figured it couldn't hurt to have the Birth Cert handy also.

well hopefully he can squeeze in some time to get this done, the one opportunity he has a chance to do it just jump on it. The day DH came back from vegas for his bp he had one day off and i made him go that day even though he was out of it and didnt really want to, thank god bc after that was filled with OT for him so jump on the 1st opportunity you get

nope i called travel guard since we had insurance and they are also looking into it. I am so nervous that they wont find it but hopefully we hear something positive soon.
