just came from sandcastle....

my BM left/fired/no idea but is gone months ago and nobody told me and now he had told me we would get a food tasting and their insisting they never ever taste test!! i loved my BM!! So disappointed w/ tonights meeting!

no taste test? is it in your contract? maybe you can find out from other sandcastle brides. The taste test is the only part my FH is interested in.

they said their food is great and its not necessary b/c we cant choose items to serve anyway - which is not what we were told when we booked. we can taste the cake if we really want to select the cake though. no we didnt put it in the contract like we should have.

Now that I think about it I didn't put it in our contract but I am picking 3 entrees and 8 hors d' oeurves so they better!

I am sorry that suks. You would think after all the money you are spending they could just do that for you!

yeah we only have 1 payment left and we got a really good deal b/c our BM was great to us and threw in extras and gave us a full vienesse for almost nothing so when this new guy looked at our contract tonight he almost fell out of his chair - so i probably shouldnt complain but i was so dissapointed - and their giving us a hard time about centerpieces.

Who was your BM?????? I haven't seen mine in a while and I'm wondering??? I spoke with another lady and she was rude and seemed shocked I got a lot of things including the food tasting!!??

Opinion - YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!!!!!!!!!
I would not sign my contract w/o the food tasting and they refused. I actually called everyone I could possible think of within about 6 hrs of seeing the Sandcastle to get food opinions. I got two reviews that is the worst place ever!!! (they were just sour for other reasons) I told this to my BM and I swear she did not believe me so I just told her listen I can't sign thank you and she scheduled me a food tasting. FH and FMIL both came with me and they did a spread that was amazing!!! The whole nine yards!!! We got to walk around another brides cocktail hour before the guests came and she was super sweet to us too. They made us about 3 platters which we had in an office and loved! I thought that was it and they came in with 2 more trays of the main course. Everything was amazing!!!!! The waiter we had was excellent!!! Dishes, silverwear and glasses super clean. My favorites are the rack of lamb, stuffed chicken and the shrimp!! Yummy!! We couldn't eat it all so they packaged eveything up for us and sent us home to feed my prego sister and BIL grandmother and friend dinner. They loved it reheated!!!!! We still had leftovers and feed FBIL and FH's aunt. They loved it the next day!!

my venue is the same owners and they did it no problem.

i'd call back and ask them yet again to reconsider and that you heard it was possible.

You have NOTHING to worry about. People are still talking about my wedding last year. They do an awesome job. I din't have a tasting ether. But I als asked every vendor and family and friends that had gone there, I never heard one bad thing.

Hmm you all have me thinking about which Banquet manager is not there...

Prior to booking I had the food tasting so I think it is possible, I am surprised that they are being that difficult about it. I got a lot of extras also and think that depending on who you spoke to today? Maybe try talking to one of the managers?

But if it makes you feel better the food there is really good, and although I did not want to be so close to home we got a great deal.

battery gardens definitely offers tastings although i forget how many people they limit the tasting to.

Hey was your BM George? I loved him. He left right after my wedding. One person said he left another said he was fired

I did have a taste test but I booked them 2 1/2 years ago. My SIL who booked them late last year was told no more food tastings as well.

I wanted to add I had 3 BM's in the 2 years I planned my wedding. They never notified me any of the times my bms left or switched for FT. I found out for myself when I would go to make a payment

I believe this happened a while ago. Seems like they changed their staff a little. Don't know much else sorry. We're having our wedding there in July and they have been nothing but great to work with so far.

Hey Annmarie...sometimes change is good. I went through the same thing when we signed with WM. The entire place changed over. It caused tons of controversary because what people heard got so twisted around...in the long run it ended up being a wonderful change. If you're truly interested in the Sandcastle take a look again...it could be for the best.
