my BM left/fired/no idea but is gone months ago and nobody told me and now he had told me we would get a food tasting and their insisting they never ever taste test!! i loved my BM!! So disappointed w/ tonights meeting!

No tast test, that is crazy!! My hall doesn't give you a taste test when you book, but it gives you one a couple of months before the wedding. They could tell you all they want about how good the food is. Try to find some past Sandcastle girls.

they said their food is great and its not necessary b/c we cant choose items to serve anyway - which is not what we were told when we booked. we can taste the cake if we really want to select the cake though. no we didnt put it in the contract like we should have.
That was one of the reasons FH did not like Sandcastle or Floral Terrace (same owners). They both said no tastings - even after booking

Annemarie, I don't really think you should worry. The BM has changed but I still am in contact with my original sales person and she has been great! I personally have not had trouble (there is one bitchy lady but I avoide her like the plauge!!! and I'm clear about that). Food is great, service is great, place is great!!! The only problem I still hear is the cake but I'm chalking it up to needing to have one thing go wrong! I'm also looking at doing a groom's cake from an amazing bakery so that will probably be majority of the cake, also I'm debating the venise hour which a horrible cake wouldn't matter then.
My best friend and one of my my BM is in another wedding there in a few weeks I'll ask her for a review and let you know!

I think they are just ACTING like they are so shocked at what you got in your contract. They are trying to dissuade you from trying to get a good deal on any other extras or trying to get things thrown in. I say don't be afraid to go over the head of your new BM!
If it helps, we had no tasting. I never wanted one even though other people did get them at my hall. I had heard the food was great at my hall and that was enough for me. It may have helped me to make some choices but I also thought it would make me even more crazy with decisions. Everything turned out so great!!!!
