Re: Just curious.........

The books say up until 28 weeks, I think. My Dr said OK when I was 32-33 weeks....I think it depends on where you are going and what your Dr's point of view is.

Re: Just curious.........

i dont' think you are supposed to fly at all when preggo

the air pressure in the cabin can cause all sorts of complications. i was bummed when I found out! wish it wasn't true

i am trying to squize as much travel as i can before we start to TTC

Re: Just curious.........

You can certainly fly when pregnant. Nancy you are correct it's up to your 3rd trimester. After that you must get a dr.'s note in order to fly on certian airlines. You are not able to fly after 38 weeks unless an emergency and again your dr. will write you a note.

As long as the air pressure cabin does not go over 35,000 you are fine. Most flights within the states do not go over this. If you are concerned with air pressure, call the airline and ask what it will be for that flight.

you'll be fine.

Thanks. Hopefully I won't have to travel at all. The person who is ill is always up and down with their health so I just thought I would ask about flying out of curiosity.

I flew at months pregnant w/out a problem.

My sister flew when she was 8 months pregnant to be at my fathers funeral.
If you have a risk free pregnancy it should be fine!

my dr said when you get to 7 months they like you to stay close to home before that is fine to fly

Re: Just curious.........

I guess it depends on your dr and how your pregnancy is going. Mine said it was okay up to 32wks.

Just for info: This is what Southwest Airlines posts on its website about it:

While air travel does not usually cause problems during pregnancy unless delivery is expected within 14 days or less, in some cases, traveling by air has been known to cause complications or premature labor. Female Customers at any stage of pregnancy should consult with their physicians prior to air travel. Southwest Airlines strongly recommends against air travel after the 38th week of pregnancy. Depending on their physical condition, strength, and agility, pregnant women may, in some cases, be asked not to sit in the emergency exit row.
