Just curious...

Just curious...

When you write out your invites for the wedding do you do family or friends first before you run out of invites. My FSIL called last night because she was running real low on invites and wanted to know if she could put alot of people on my side of the family on one invite. She said they are already up to almost 300 people and they are running out of invitations now. So I was just curious if anyone else thought that she should've done the family first and worried about running out of invites when it came to their friends and business associates.

This is a good question... I have no idea! I was wondering if I have to send invites to our parents!

i never really thought of that....i would think close family would be the way to go
you cant say can friend a and friend b and friend c all come on one invite.....i would say 1 invite could suffice (sp?) per household...even if that household extends. probably not the BEST thing to do...but you could get away with it

Now I brought this up to my aunt last night and she couldnt understand why she(FSIL)would invite friends before family but this is the same girl who didnt invite any of our family to the engagement party just HER friends and my 5 of my brothers friends plus her immediate family. I also would think to say your running out of invites but then tell me your writing invites for each individual person in a household makes no sense. I have four kids and she was sending invites to each of them Of course you have no invites left As far as invites for your parents, IMO I dont think it's necessary and neither did my mother but some parents would want to keep it as a keepsake. My mother wants one from my brothers wedding though because she has been included in anything as far as his wedding so she feels if your gonna treat me like another guest then I want a written invite but that's a whole other story
