Just Curious

We may need to postpone our honeymoon for 6 weeks but don't really know where to go or what to do. I was thinking a bungalow on the beach in Barbados.

What is everyone's honeymoon plans? Is anyone delaying their honeymoon?

We are sort of...our real honeymoon is a cruise to Alaska. Since they only sail in the summer months and our wedding is in March, we will go away for a few days to New Orleans and then take the cruise in July. Are you delaying due to not being able to get the time away or is it another reason? I ask because, if you can, try to take at least an extra couple of days after just to linger in the excitement of the wedding and spend some 1 on 1 with your new husband-even if you don't go away of just go somewhere close by. One good thing about a delayed honeymoon is that when all the planning and excitement have died down, you have a nice vacation to look forward to too.
Not that I really think that but it was definitely my first thought. Actually it is a cousin of my fiance who I have never met but to open that first one and to see 'will NOT attend'. Oh well...this wedding stuff brings out all kinds of feelings doesn't it? It really is a rollercoaster ride :o)

We're planning a cruise...

However, not the typical tropical cruise. We're thinking of going on Royal Caribbean's Canada/New England cruise for 10 days - to see some peak foliage! Ahhhh, I'm so old! Anyway, it happens to leave on a Tuesday out of Boston so it works out great...honeymoon night in New York and one night in Boston.

We would delay our honeymoon if we have to, though...no problem with that!

Time to Reflect

The delay is pretty much work related. Your suggestions are what I was thinking. Our first trip away when we started dating was an overnight stay in Montauk, so I thought we could head out there the morning after the wedding. I want to spend our first night as husband and wife in our house that we bought last year.

The other part of me feels, that with all the excitement, like you mentioned, we may not get to fully enjoy and treasure the day after our wedding if we rush to catch a flight to get somewhere. I was thinking if we drove out to Montauk for a couple of days, the drive would give us time to reflect back on the day. Sure, we could do that on a plane, but this way we'd be going at our own pace, not worrying about making a flight.

Thank you Ayanna! *NM*

At my site it is also an overpriced happy meal!! It's half price for kids under twelve and free for all of my vendors. I really wish I could run to Burger King for them that day!!!

We are having so many people from out of town and even from out of the country that we will have to delay our honeymoon for about a week

I received most of the replies the week of my reply date. I had about 5 outstanding ones. Gee, what's wrong with people today? Is it really hard to mail back a card that has a stamp on it??? My cousin told me that they had some outstanding replies, they never called the people and those people actually showed up at the wedding!!!! They had to get more tables and chairs!! Can you believe that. It seems like everyone has to make some phone calls after all the invites go out! Good luck with the replies.

My question really deals with the part about adding the hall as an additional insured....has any bride dealt with this? Mark...have you had to add a particular hall on your policy?

Just Curious - Sunny Italy

We have not made any specific plans yet but we know Italy is our choice. We are probably leaving on Sunday or Monday. Our wedding is on a Friday and my FI family will be in from all over the country so we want to spend a little time with them.

Thanks for the compliment on the picture, Lauren!

Right now it looks like we will need about 2 months to see everything we want to. I wish!
We are thinking about starting in Florence, and we know want to make it down to Positano/Capri but we really want to go North to Milan too, plus I have family up that way - so that's another decision. We are planning for Mid Sept so we have a little time.

Stay at the Hotel San Pietro if you can!!! It is near Positano and absolutely gorgeous!

They were less expensive than putting out chocolates..and most people thought the hall put them out..it was a classy addition.
