Just Curious - Bridal Party Duties

I am just curious, what kind of assistance are you getting from your bridal party? I really haven't asked mine to do anything yet. I still have 6 mos to go and haven't gotten into the little details or time consuming stuff yet. Thanks

Fran, I think it really depends... on two main factors - you and how much involvement you want them to have and the same goes for them - I know now that I would of been a better bridemaid now that I'm going through it. I didn't really know that there was this much to do... I think it is nice if they help look for your dress - help with jewerly, many decisions that you need to discuss... I know you probably know this but they help with your shower or they can even be the one's who throw it. They can go to bridal expo's with you - I went with my Fi.. but it would of been nice to make a night of it with my bridal party. If you want them to be really involved you are probabyly going to have to ask don't just assume they know b/c they might not - I hope this long long note helps a little.

My bridesmaids have been very helpful since day 1. One of the BM is very creative and she's helping me with the church decorations. Another has very good handwriting, she's addressing the invitation envelopes. Don't hesitate to discuss things with them. They may not know what you need help with unless you ask. I actually have more fun discussing and planning the wedding with the girls than with my fiance.

May I ask what kind of creative church decorations you are planning on having??? Just curious...I only know of flowers at the alter and bows on the pews.
