have many people asked to see your ring when you told them you were engaged?
I always immediately ask to see girls' rings when they tell me they're engaged, and looking back, I realized that not many people have asked to see mine. Whatever... no big deal. But I always ask girls thinking they want to show it off and it's fun for them to do it. I was just getting my nails done at lunch, and thought... ya know... not too many people ever ask to see my ring. And it's a pretty ring, damn it! (ring shown smaller than actual size)...

I always gladly show it off....one time someone asked to see the Tiffany ring I had on the other finger 'they said can I see you ring' and I automatically assumed they wanted to see my e-ring...I was a little embarrased

I have had people ask to see my ring but honestly I don't really ask to see someone else's unless I see there is one. I would hate to ask to see someone's ring when they might not have one. I wouldn't want to put someone in an awkward position.

My ring size also. I think I might be even a little smaller then that 4.50. I hate when people ask to see my ring. I always wonder what they are thinking in there mind. This is LI and I know how many women think.

Pretty much everyone I know and some strangers. I actually don't really like to show it off to people I don't know because you never know what kind of weird people are out there.

Right after the 'ahhhh congratulations', my close friends and family would grab my hand. With people I don't know as well I noticed there was awkward hesitation. I think people want to avoid being seen as inspecting the 'rock' even though they all want to see how pretty it is!!!!

i work in a hospital and see lots of little lonely old ladies. They always see my ring and ask when I;m getting married and ask to look at it closer. I think they do it for conversation, but its nice and I like to show it off!

A lot of people have asked (mainly women). Not so much recently because most people have seen it already.
I work with a lot of outside analysts and it's funny when they ask me how the wedding planning is going! They are mainly men.

Everyone asked to see my ring and everyone who didn't my Mom made a point to grab my hand and show it to them (rude much, lol). I used to be a manager at a grocery store and it was so strange when complete strangers would ask to see my ring (I guess they saw it when I was making conversation and they wanted to see?).

At first it seemed like everyone asked and then it started to die down. People still comment on it occasionally and ask to see it again. I think to most people it's rude to stand over your hand and inspect the ring. So, instead they just say congratulations!

agreed! all of my guy friends asked to see my ring (i think to get an idea of what to get their girlfriends someday) and my close girlfriends checked it out. but alot of 'acquaintances' were just like 'oh congrats'. whatever!

Most inquiries come from 1-men, and 2-strangers!
All of FH's friends asked to see it as soon as they found out we were engaged. My family (with the exception of Grandma) didn't really ask. Cashiers in stores ask me all the time - sometimes its so embarassing Yesterday in Target, she actually grabbed my hand as I was giving her the money to get a closer look People are ballsy!

Not too many people ask to see it. I see their eyes LOOK at it, but they don't ask. 99% of my clients are men, though so that may be it!
