Just devastated

It's been such a long night - because of my stupid inlaws my father said to me - 'You're such a smart girl, but getting married to him is such a dumb decision'

They are pissed that his issues are affecting me - we are getting married though, isn't that what a partnership is all about?

It's going to be awesome walking down the aisle knowing that my parents feel this way

under no circumstances parents should say things like that, unless their children are marrying an abuser or God knows what.
he shouldnt have said to u

my FH also has some major family drama ALL the time, and I am still marrying him. its us TWO , not everybody in the bed and on daily basis

awwww Lori, I'm sure your father just hates seeing you so upset. Sug is such a great way, I'm sure he knows that getting married to him is far from a bad idea.

Trust Me, I know exactly how you feel!!! At least your parents are talking to you.... my mother, father, and sisters haven't spoke to me since December!!!!

Not that it justifies it, but I think it sounds like your dad meant marrying into FH's FAMILY is a bad idea, not necessarily marrying FH

I am so sorry, Lori. Girls parents can be so mean sometimes, without thinking.

Sug is awesome.. and I am sure your dad is just upset about all the family drama not about him.
