Hi everyone! Im newly engaged (as of saturday!) and am so overwhelmed. We had been talking about getting married for some time now, but I was not expecting it this soon at all. We have been together a few years now, and have a son who just turned 2. We were actually on a vacation to Disney World when FH popped the question right in front of the castle! It was really special, his mom and sister even flew in to see the whole thing (being that my parents were with us on vacation). Now that we are back from vacation, its time to start planning.. except that I dont even know where to begin! I have no idea when I want to get married, where, or pretty much anything! My cousin is actually getting married next September and I am a bridesmaid so I am thinking it has to be a good deal after September so I dont overwhelm myself or the rest of our family.
I look forward to any help, tips, and advice all of you have to share!

Congrats and enjoy being engaged.
My suggestion is two fold:
1. Come up with a preliminary list to figure out whether you are talking about a wedding with 100 people or a wedding with 200 people. This makes a difference for some of the venues you are going to look at.
2. Come up with your budget so that you can narrow down what rehearsal halls to look at.

Congrats and welcome! A November wedding sounds nice; the prices are lower, and there won't be a blizzard to worry about, either. You will find so many great ideas from this site!
The first thing I recommend doing is going to a couple of RH's and see what they quote for November. good luck!

Congrats and welcome!!! everyone is super helpful here!! I agree with Mara. first make a list of the guest you plan to invite and next settle on a budget. ONce you have those 2 things you can start looking at venues that are within your budget and person minimum.
Enjoy a few days/weeks of being engaged before you start booking. trust me, once you start the planning it can get a lil overwhelming. Good Luck :)
