Just for The Record vs. TGIF

Just for The Record vs. TGIF

I am doing the all-inclusive wedding package at Smithtown Landing and while most of the vendors are one choice, you get an option of DJs - Just for the Record and TGIF!

Does anyone have experience with both or either? Would love to hear some feedback to help in my decision.

Thanks! :)

I have gone to a few weddings that Elliot at Just for the Record worked and he was great - kept everyone dancing (even the sunday daytime wedding!) and played a vast array of music that fit whichever couple he was working for. I dont have experience with the other one, but J4TR was fantastic!

So happy to hear this because my venue DJ is also J4TR, and I haven't found many reviews online on them that are current lol.

That's good to know! Does anyone have anything on TGIF? I might be going in the J4TR direction just because more people seem to have used them and I'm not finding much at all, good or bad, on TGIF!

We booked with Elliot(J4TR). We really liked him. He was upfront and easy to talk to. Answered all my questions. He said I could give him a few songs for the wedding or plan the entire playlist if I wanted lol (So tempting lol) I hadn't read any good reviews about TGIF and my wedding planner said I should steer clear of them. We saw them at the SLCC Showcase and my fiance didn't like the 'look' of them, so he was happy we went with J4TR. I am also a bit of a 'red-penner' and TGIF had emailed me and spelled a few things incorrectly LOL Silly reason but I'm sorry, to me that was unprofessional.

LOL totally fair! FH was an English major and is also a big 'red-penner' so I totally understand! This is helpful, thank you!
