Just found out about the first couple breakup of friends

We just got news today that a couple who we are good friends with broke up about six weeks ago. We are very sad--they were really good together. They are on our invitation list, but my FH and I are trying to figure out the proper etiquette now that they aren't a couple. We haven't made any phone calls yet to find out their wishes--of course, we have been friends longer with one half of the couple and the are on our out-of-towners list, but I guess I am looking for advice as to how brides in the past have handled situations like this? My FH and I were in a sticky situation, where we broke up for three months early on in our relationship and then got back together and one of his friends was getting married and did not invite me, because we weren't together during the time they were doing the list. I totally understood why I wasn't invited and took no offense (In the end, I was invited, proof that you do go to the B-list). So what to do? Of course we have hopes that they will get back together, but who knows?

Ladies, I'm looking for advice.

I just had a close couple get divorced. I was friends with the guy first. So, I invited him with a guest. He has already moved on and now has a girlfriend, so she'll be coming.

but, I never did feel like the ex-wife ever did 'embrace' me as her friend. So, I guess it was a little easier for me to decide which half to stay close to

My suggestion would be to get in touch with them before sending the invite. See how they feel. Maybe they are still somewhat friends where they could come together anyway!! Ya never know, maybe if they came together, they would get back together at your wedding!!

Or you could just play dumb like you don't know they broke up (unless they know you know) and send the invite to both of them anyway!!

They know we know. We are definitely going to call both of them. It's just weird. We sent out the safe the date about four weeks ago, so they were already breaking up or broken up when they got it.

I am a pushy-tailed, bright-eyed optimistic romantic and I hope that this is not a permanent thing, but they've been together for close to five years and I think that one was wanting more than the other was willing to give. But you never know...

wait as long as you can, but invite them both , without guest, and sit them at separate tables if yu can. If one feels wakward, they judt onr come. They may call you too see if the otehr one is going, if they really want to go, but know they can't handle it.
