JUST found out church doesnt have AC

Stupid me I didnt even THINK to ask. I just assumed it did. Invites went out last week so no matter what we are getting married at that church.

I have an industrial sized portable air conditioner....lol do you think if I can bring that in it will help???

please tell me the church wont be SWELTERING on Sept 19th!

with global warming there is a good chance it will still be hot in september, i'm still debating whether or not to have our ceremony outside which will be totally dependent on the weather.

i know last year it was like 80 degrees on 9/19

ask the church if you can bring in the portable air conditioner...they may not approve it.

and it might be better to have several large fans in different locations rather than 1 AC unit if the church is very large...really depends

finally, mid-September is rarely sweltering, so relax. You may want to make program fans just in case.

ETA: Usually if a church doesn't have AC, they at least have fans? Do they have fans at least? The hand-held fans sounds like a really cute idea!

I think you might be fine....even with Sept. having been 80 and annalouk said it's not sweltering usually. You might even have a cool breezy day...you never know nowadays what the weather will be like any given year.

Either way...if you wedding is towards the evening it will be cooler than at th height of the heat in the mid-afternoon.

Talk to the church and find out if they do fans. I wouldn 't bring the portable AC..more for you to think about .

Everything will be fine weatherwise.

It should be fine in September. My sister had her e-party on June 7th this year.. when it was 95 degrees.. and the AC in the hall we were using died.... (it was our fire dept hall so we didnt have to pay) Well it was probably 100 degrees in the room but people still came and said they had a good time. Your ceremony will probably be only a half hour or so, just see if you can have some fans going. At least so you wont melt in your dress. Your guests should be fine.

You should go in there during the next heat wave we have, dont go on the first day go a few days into it. Also go around the same time your ceremony will be.

the Pastor let me know that they have huge fans they usually bring in for weddings.

our ceremony is at 4 so it shouldnt be TOO bad...at least its not smack in the middle of the day when its the hottest.

i think i'll do the fan programs and have the church bring in fans. i feel bad for our guests but sorry!

maybe you can quickly designate 2 fanners, like they did in the days of egypt. They can fan you as you walk down the aisle!

you'd probably have to pay a visit to AC Moore or Michaels - those look like some wooden popsickle sticks (just bigger) LOL
& cardstock - but maybe post on DIY Board and I'm sure someone who did them will respond.

KK...you'll be fine...4:00 in mid September may be warm, but it's nothing like 12:00 in mid August. Relax, and know that everything will be fine. You will have BEAUTIFUL weather. Especially if you have angels in heaven rooting for ya...that's what I keep telling myself.... they won't possibly let us have bad weather...
