Just found out that my church does not allow........

an aisle runner. I can't believe it.

thats pretty dumb, if u ask me. thats so tradition to have an aisle runner. sorry, that sux

the only thing mine doesn't allow is rose pedals. so was have to use something else.

Yeah thats crazy. I think its an insurance thingy.. If someone trips on it, they are liable. Nuts.. I know.

A lot of churches dont allow it now.

My church doesnt either. The priest actually says alot of time if the bride uses the ones from the limo company they are dissapointed anyway because its usally paper and makes noise as people are walking down. He said that he has even seen the bridesmaids heels poke holes in it

Mine doesn't either, and that's ok with me, b/c I've been in 2 weddings where by the time got to walk to the aisle, the runner was already a rumpled mess.

Tara! We'rein the same $ucky situation...My church doesn't allow it either! It's for insurance purposes, they just don't want anyone tripping over it and suing the church....I didn't even think someone would sue the church????

What about rose petals? Create some type of a motif 'aisle runner?' That's what we're going to do!

I am not a church bride but think about this. I wouldn't be as upset with the church as I would be with the people who actually SUE the church when they fall. To me, that sounds worse. Who could sue a church? Someone has had to in the past I guess. Where does clumsiness or assumption of risk come into play?

My church dosent either and here is the reason they gave me:

The Deacon at my church also works at another church (wont mention the name) and an elderly woman tripped and fell on the isle runner and she BROKE a bone and SUED the church!!! I mean, COME ON..how do you sue a church after YOU fell??? SO sad..and it ruins it for so many brides to come!
