Just found out that one of the places that I booked!!

I just found out that one of the girls on here that I gave information to use my name and got a deal called up the place and made a scene so they got the same price that I got!! I don't mind using my name for things but i don't need my name put into something and u getting mad at the place I can't perdict what the place is going to give u!! Sorry just had to vent now I feel like this person might be telling people to use my name to get the same rate!! Please don't if that is the case!!

The most I would ever do is mention that I saw the vendor on this board & wanted to check it out for myself. I would never give the name of anyone on here to get a discount, that's tacky. I'd try to straighten it out with the other bride. Sorry you had to go through this.

sorry that happened... thats not right...

Also....price wise with vendors, each person is given their own price, it varies by the day, time, when you book...obviously price increases also occur over time, and thus the reason why the first bride will have the lower price.... it doesnt hurt to mention a name, but demanding something is not what should be done...

What??!!! Things like this really upset me. We are all here just to help each other out, but now you have to think twice before helping someone out!!! The only time I used someone's real name is when asked how we heard about the place so at least the bride can get a little extra for the free advertising. But to blatantly use a bride's name and quote is just F'd up!!!

i agree. also, i would definetly confront this bride.

I agree, that is ridiculous! I am very sorry that happened to you....it is horrible that you were trying to help another bride to be out and she thanks you by putting you in such a horribly awkward position! I think everyone agrees that what she did was extremely disrespectful! I agree that you should check your sent fm and 'out' her so that the next person who tries to help her knows to be very careful because she obviously can't be trusted!

That really stinks because what if people get a better pricing because they worked at negotiating it? It sucks that someone else could just say, well you gave it to them, so just give it to me. It's a business, prices can be different for everyone. Some people are able to get it for lower if they really try to bargain.

go to your 'sent FM's' and see if you sent her anything in FM yourself. You can see the name that way.

I'm sorry she did that - it's embarassing to the hall, to you and ultimately to her because we should know that pp prices vary from individual to individual. I hope the hall is not too upset with you. I'm sure you didn't realize that the girl was going to act like she should get the same price.

I don't think you should 'out' her though, because it would look like a witch hunt (albeit the girl was wrong to do what she did) but outing her will only add fuel to the flame. I would deal with it personally - yes be mad as hell but privately with her.
