I am a board director for NAIW-NYC (National Association of Insurance Women - NYC) www.naiwnyc.org
We are working on a project of literacy.
We donate books to the Sanctuary of Families. It's a personal favorite of mine. Helping women with children who are not poor or hanicapped in anyway, just had bad luck on choices of men.
May we all marry healthy and happy, but if something should go wrong I truly supporting such charities that support those women and children in need.

Re: Just FYI
Does that mean you take books? Because I try to sell most of mine online but I have tons that I would be willing to donate

Re: Just FYI
I just bought a few paperbacks this weekend, and have no use for them anymore, and I was looking for a place to give them.

Re: Just FYI
Do you need children's books? I work for a children's book publisher and we need to do some house cleaning soon. I would rather send it your way than toss stuff. Let me know what you need and I will see if I can help.

Re: Just FYI - NAIW & Sanctuary for Families
Yes yes yes!!
We definately take children books.
Yes we do take backpacks for next year. We donated 60 fully stocked this year
We definately takes books, they are so useful. Household items are also taken. These families are set up in halfway houses or new place to live with nothing because they ran from their homes with clothes on their backs.
Business suits too. (if you lost weight and need to get rid of them) The women need these for appearances in custody court.
You can check out the Charity's site at www.sanctuaryforfamilies.com for more info on them.
Im willing to collect in long Island. In November we are doing a Secret Santa for the women and children. Picking names and sponsoring one.
If you're interesting in donating anything just FM and we'll iron out details.
