I'm just getting started on the whole wedding thing, so I'm basically looking for some good word of mouth reccomendations. Right now I'm looking into photographers and DJ's. Who does everyone suggest I look into?

check out the djs and photographers who advertise through this site...click on vendors at the top. and then if you want to see what other girls think about them you can either start a post about it, or you can do a search using that vendor name for previous topics.

I would say if you are just getting going, then there are a few things you should do first:

make a budget
Check out LOTS of reception halls
post any questions you have on LI Weddings!

Congrats and welcome... don't let some of these girls discourage you from posting... MOST of us will welcome you with open arms!

FM Entertainment is great for a DJ... we practically booked them on the spot. And their prices are great!!!

I don't think you can go wrong with Duet, I met with them and was blown away by their work. We eneded up going with someone else but Duet was definitely our second chioce. Try doing a search for them on the Bride's Review, you'll get to hear first hand what past brides thought of them and you'll even get to see some of their work.

Welcome and Congrats to both 'Newbie's' Some of the girls are just being careful due to recent problems on the boards... Don't let them scare you away, they can be a little harsh until they realize your real. I'm using velvet as my photographer and Music by Michael is my DJ (my fiance and I loved his work and how he works with you)... My sister is getting married this October and she is using Body Rock as her DJ and she is using ******** Photography as her Photographer. FM me if you have any questions!!!

Bravura entertainment is an amazing dj company. They specialize only in weddings. I am using them. 2 of my friends used them and the dance floor was hopping all night. I am going to check out Duet photography tomorrow. . .heard they are awesome. Classic Video productions in West Babylon are very good. I know many people who have used them and the videos are amazing. I also recommend Burtons for flowers. I basically used a lot of the same vendors my friends or family used. If they left an impression on me at their weddings I made sure to check them out.
