Just got a letter from Fortunoffs....our silverware is discontinued
and we already had received 2 of our placesettings that went with our china as gifts.
but the good news is I just searched and we were able to buy our entire set on Oneida direct for 1/2 the cost!! what a deal!!
one 5 piece placesetting at fortunoffs was $55, and on oneida.com we just got 4 sets or 20 pieces for $99. I'm so glad we were able to get this set! and the additional pieces as well!
if anyone else gets the same letter -- do some research, now we are just going to return the other sets to fortunoffs and use the $$ towards something else.

I was told that our flatware will no longer be sold in the US (It's a danish company, and most sales are in europe.) We're registered at rudi's pottery in paramus, and they told me in advance. I made a deal with them, and fronted the $$$ for the set. They ordered the whole set, and are re-imbursing me as people buy them off the registry....
crisis averted!!!!!
(I'm a really stubborn person, and fell in love with the flatware years ago in the MoMA shop. I refused to give up my dream flatware!)

that's awesome that you were able to make a deal with them!! that would've been a good idea--then we would'nt have had buy it ourselves.
Fortunoff's just stated they may still have our patern in stock and we could purchase what they had. but we ended up with a much better deal buying our Wedgwood by Oneida silverware direct! thank goodness for deals! we loved our silverware and the that fact it perfectly matched the detailing on the edgeing of our china. we loved it too much to not buy it. it only ended up being like $300 for 12 placesettings and another $29 for the hostess set.

that *****... but i am glad you find them elsewhere! that's weird... usdually fortunoff's is pretty good about telling you products they dont' recommend as registry items because they know they will dicontinued soon. . . .

actually we registered on the early side....and have a long engagement. by the time we get married we'll have been engaged exactly 25 months. so I guess it was bound to happen---that something off our registry get discontinued
