Our priest is leaving! We really love him. He has married many of FH's friends, did christening and communion masses for family and also did the funeral mass for one of FH's best friends. We knew him on a personal level and are really upset about this.
The letter also said that they will let me know in about a month who will do the wedding. I'm pissed!

Sorry to hear that. Is he going far? Maybe you can talk to him privately and see if he will still do your wedding if he is just going to another parish nearby? A lot of priests will do that.

Oh no! That happened to us too... but we were able to talk to him, and he is coming back to our church to perform our ceremony... luckily a LIW bride let me know before I recieved the letter so that I got to him right away, lol...
I'm sure your wedding ceremony will still be wonderful, whoever does it!

ugh...im sorry...fh and i are sorta in the same boat....we will not know if our priest will be conducting our ceremony until 2 weeks or so before our wedding....we love him and have done all of our stuff with him....he has been made monsignor and is moving to the rc diocese....so he still does not know if he will be able to....i am sorry....it def is upsetting

He is just being transferred, but has an obligation that day so cannot return.
