Just got back from looking at the Woodbury CC and the Crest Hollow CC....
I just got back from looking at the Crest Hollow Country Club and the Woodbury Country Club, and I liked them both (they have a lot of similarities). I'm leaning toward one but was just curious to hear anyones good/bad experiences at either, how the food was, was there enough food, etc. Thanks again for your help.

I have never been to the Woodbury Country Club. I have been to the Crest Hollow though for a wedding about 5 years ago and it was fantastic. The food was delicious and there was excellent service. The grounds are absolutely beautiful! I was interested in having the ceremony there outside. If you are thinking about that the Crest Hollow would be perfect. I went looking there for my wedding and it was a close runner up. There were 3 things that led me to choose not to have my reception there. #1 the price was $35 more per person than what I am paying now. #2 I didn't like how all the bathrooms were on the first floor, especially since my reception would be on the second floor. #3 was the main reason why we didn't book there. When I was looking at the place they did something that really bothered me. They showed us 2 rooms while things were going on in those rooms. One was some sort of ceremony (I think maybe a bar mitzfa (spelling?) and they also showed us a bridal suite that had people in it! I would be very angry if on the day of my wedding they interrupted my ceremony or reception to show people the room...I would be even more angry if they brought people into my bridal suite!!!!! And yes we did have an appointment. (And I just want to add that this isn't the only reception hall that we saw that did this) If you do decide to book there make it clear to them that they are not welcome to walk strangers into your event!!!!!!!!!!! Because otherwise it is a beautiful place to have a wedding.

I'm surprised you would say that they have a lot of similarities. I found them to be entirely different. I can't comment on how the food is at Woodbury CC yet, since we haven't had our tasting, but I have heard nothing but good things.
CHCC - I went to a fundraising event there in October, and frankly, the food was horrid! HOWEVER, this was not a wedding and I don't think they were looking to impress us and I am pretty sure the price per person was much less than what you would get at a wedding. So I can't really comment on the food there other than that one experience, but I wouldn't say it was indicative of how the food would be for a wedding.
I did not like how there was only one bathroom at CH and it was on the first floor, so if you're in one of the upstairs rooms and need to go, and there are several affairs going on at once, you may be in line for a looooong time.
These are just my opinions, of course, and doesn't mean that anyone who chose CH should feel bad about my comments. I am obviously biased.

agreed with jannshair...these to place don't have much in common.. i visted it both of them. both nice places
CHCC - GREAT PRICE FOR WHAT YOU GET!!!. if you didn't talk to leo let him con (i mean talk) you into staying at CHCC. The service from what i've seen and heard is great. We are using the downstairs room room for reception. I didn't like the bathroom bit myself but it's rather a large bathroom. Any anytime i go to a wedding, i've never seen more then 1 person when i've gone down there.
Woodbury... i'll call this more traditonal in my eyes. i think the room on lower level and 2nd floor was a low ceiling (i think). I didn't like that. Overall, very nice though. Woodbury was actually the first place to offer any type of drink while we wait and go on tour. The price was ok but not as good as CHCC.
btw..i don't think there is a tasting at CHCC (i think)

Oh, I didn't mean they looked alike, definately opposite, they offered some of the same things, pianist(?) in the lobby, same foods, etc. What room are you in(I didn't get to see the downstairs room because there were boyscouts in it)? Did you add any extras or did you think what they gave was enough? Of course I remembered a bunch of questions after I left I'll have to write them down and call tomorrow. Thanks for your help!

I'm assuming you were asking me, so I'll answer. I have the Garden Suite (downstairs). I like it a lot better than the upstairs room. They threw in the international coffee and cordial bar for us, and we got the lowest price they were offering (which I don't think they offer anymore). We're not adding anything else, as I feel that they offer quite a lot that many other places don't, and we really don't want to spend the extra money (well, we'd want to if we had extra money ).

I didn't look at Crest Hollow for a few reasons. I'd been there many, many years ago for various functions and don't remember being impressed with anything about it. I believe the upstairs room they will use a room divider to have two functions and I do not like that. Also, someone I work with was in a wedding there recently and she loved it. The guests, however, said it was chaos trying to find their rooms. They must have started two or three weddings at the same time and the guests all blended together. There was such a crowd it was like after-Christmas sales. She did say the food was good and the grounds were beautiful so if you can work around the crowd situation, it sounds good.
My brother's wedding was at Woodbury a few years ago and it was very nice. I liked the upstairs room with the atrium feel to it. There was a lot of food and it was good. I think they only do two weddings at a time, and Crest Hollow will do more than that (if that's a factor).

just keep in mind as you start looking, you will see the same things...other places offer different things which makes them unique

I just had my wedding at Crest Hollow in November and evberything was PERFECT. The food was great, we got so many compliments on it, the service was wonderful. Everyone we dealt with from Leo (the BM) to the waiters and set up staff were so helpful and nice. Yes, there was another wedding going on but NEVER did I see another guest or the bride or groom. THey are so used to it and do an amazing job of keeping everything seperate. Yup, only one huge bathroom on the ground floor but I didn't hear one complaint about it. Plus theres an elevator so if someone cannot walk down the stairs, they can take that.
We looked at WCC - it was nice but not my style. I think we looked at a room with low ceilings and I liked something that looked roomier. But everyone's tastes are different. I am sure you will have a wonderful party at either place but if you have any questions about CH please FM me. I cannot recommend them enough!

Just have to put my two cents in. I recently went to the WCC for a showcase. Their food was amazing. Oh and their bartender made a perfect cosmopolitan!! On that alone, it has put them on my top 5 list.

I have been to events @ both. The food was great @ both places. I lean more towards the woodbury CC--I just like the look of it better and although they have the capability of doing more than one affair @ a time, I think they do a little bit of a better job of keeping the events separate.

I looked at both also and wasn't impressed with the woodbury cc. It was pretty but that's about it.
Crest hollow I fell in love with and didn't think twice about it, booked it on the spot. I have heard wonderful things about the service, the food and everything else and I can't wait for my wedding in 4 months there.

we are booked for woodbury cc on sept 18th! i absolutely love it there!!! the food is delicious, the people are wonderful to deal with and the grounds are beautiful. they offered everything we were looking for and more. we have the room upstairs, but i don't think that the ceilings were all that low. the wall of windows brightens everything so much also. i've never been to crest hollow, but i have not heard good things about it. my dad recently attended several affairs there, and disliked them all. that's the only advice i can offer.... good luck with the planning!!!

during my hunt for a hall, I visited 7, #1 being Woodbury CC and #7 being Crest Hollow- I didnt book Woodbury for a few reasons #1 Lobby was too small-in the even of inclement weather, I'd take my photos there, but my guests would see me #2 ceilings were too low #3 they wouldnt let me show up after my ceremony- not until an hour b4 my cocktail hr. (FYI North Ritz Club told me the same) However the grounds were very nice. However after seeing Crest Hollow and not having been to a wedding there in a very long time, I immediately saw the difference- from the grounds to the staff. They were cooperative with me and the ideas i had in mind for my wedding, whereas Woodbury didnt seem as so.
Overall, Crest Hollow just had more to offer-including more stations at the Cocktail Hr.

I went to a wedding at CHCC a few years ago and the food was great. The CH was out by the pool which was a nice touch. The reception was on the first floor, so I didn't notice the bathroom issue.

I just got married in the CHCC in October and the were incredible!!!! The Food was great and the service was amazing!! They were ontop of everthing, my guest are still talking about them they did not have to ask for a thing. Good Luck

My sisters wedding was a tWCC...and it was really great...
the old school I worked for had their prom at CHCC every year (big school...had 1000 people attend) and they would rent out the whole place...
I won't compare the food...b/c it was prom food (a different menu I am SURE) - but they always treated the school great...and they return there every year!
