and I failed. I feel like I practiced so hard & my permit expires in August when I turn 29. Yes 29 without and just trying to get my license. Oh well, came home, had my cry and will be rescheduling another test for July.

i failed the first time too. its okay. i was bummed, but i wound up taking refresher lessons w a different instructor and passed the 2nd time
i realized then that i wasnt ready the first time, and the first driving instructor i had was not good!! he taught me for 'the test' not for 'real life driving'...which isnt really a good/safe thing

My parralel was horrible I was so off on my estimate and was tooooo far from the curb so I totally understand that. But he said that I did not signal early enough, I did not observe enough, and poor steering control & this is with 20 lessons already. I didn't even feel like I did that bad except with the parking.

Don't feel bad!!! I'm 24 and my friend is 26 and we just decided to go get our licenses together, so you're not alone!
Also, sometimes those people can be really harsh! My mom had her license for like 20 years, then our car got stolen so she wasn't driving for awhile and she let her license expire for long enough where she had to go take her road test again. When she went, she failed the first time! She did fine the whole time and then she barely hit the curb when she was parking and it was an automatic fail!

You'll be able to get it done in July for sure! Ew - the person administering the test sounds like a jerk. haha, poor steering control - give me a break (no pun intended)
They always watch where youre watching so like every 10 seconds just check your mirrors ... GOOD LUCK IN JULY!!! You'll pass!

I'm sure by now you know logically HOW to drive. Now it's just a matter of road time. You probably don't even need more lessons, just time bhind the wheels with a licensed driver. It's more of a comfort thing for you now at this point, not about instruction. Don't worry. But everytime you need to go somewhere, try to be the one driving and let the usual driver be the passenger. Good luck

@ cookie I took the test on Havemeyer Avenue in the Bronx, Castle Hill section.
@ barb I hope I can develop the nija skills that you have for the next test
I just ordered some food and will spend the rest of my day zoning out in front of the tv. You girls are the best

omg. dont do it in the bronx! go to westchester or somewhere where there is just less cars on the road!

Don't worry about it! Lots of people fail the first time. I did. I took it again a couple months later (with no extra lessons or practice) and did perfectly. A lot of the time it just depends on who you get.
