I agree with the other girls. FH and I did it once we got engaged but we still kept our individual accounts opened as well.

we opened a joint account this weekend with our gifts from our eparty - we are going to try not to touch it until AFTER the wedding - wish us luck!! hahahaha!!
but we also have seperate saving and checking accounts.....we've been living together for so long that everyhting is 'our' money but i just think its easier to keep checking accounts seperate.....and its nice that we each have our own savings - especially for when i want to buy him things or surprise him - or like when he was saving for my e-ring! he couldn't have pulled that off if we had a shared account - i think id noticed him savings thousands of dollars and then all of a sudden it disappearing!....i think that after the wedding we'll probably keep things the same.... i could never imagine not having my own account! i'd feel naked!

We opened a joint savings account with our engagement party gifts too. We also have a joint checking account and then we each have our own savings account. But, I'm the one who writes all the checks and does all the banking.

We can pay all the bills on time now , instead of having to wait til next paycheck or whatever. The only thing that took some time getting used to was remembering to tell each other when we took $ out of the ATM. We share the bank account and the bills. It took some time to look at HIS student loans as MY bill. But, I guess that's marriage!!! hahaha![]()

yeah fh jokes around and says 'i guess in 2 years i will be paying our student loans off' meanwhile he doesn't have any i am the one in debt about 75000$ for school loans haha
