Just got back from Totally You!! GRRRRR!!! Need alteration help.

My dear mom called them to ask when can she come in to do her fitting.....well they informed her that she could come in at anytime and she didn't need an appointment.

Well we go there today. The woman who initially sold her the dress (and was sooo nice to my mom when she did), was quite rude and said you can't do alterations today. When my mom explained that she was not told that. Instead of using some basic customer service sense and try to see if she could help my mom, she proceeded to tell my mom that my mom could take the dress home, but she would have to come back during the week.

My mom was sooo upset coz she wasted her time going there. So then I remembered the posts that Clover23 made and a few others about the alteration fiascos that have happened at Totally You. So I told my mom (in Spanish of course) that we wold go somewhere else to get it done.

Miraculously out of the blue...the sale woman barges in on my mom who was trying to try on the dress and says oh we can help you now. We can do the alterations for you right now.

I said to myself, someone understood that I was going to go somewhere else to get my alterations, coz why would they now be soooo nice to me and be able to assist me, when before they wouldn't.

I was like sorry i have an appt, which I did, but it had no bearing on my mom, but I said it to get out of there ASAP, coz I didn't want to deal with them anymore.

So now I have to look for a place in Nassau that does good work with alterations......

Any one have any suggestions? TIA

Did she get alterations done from them, or has sheonly ordered the dress?

Coz the ordering of the dress was great!! They had the dress in a few days, but with this experience about the alterations, my advice would be to pick up and pay for the dress and take it somewhere else to get it altered if it needs it.

its prob better not to get it done there.
the only reason my mom got it done there was bc it was only adding another strap and because we were pressed for time and didnt have time to look for new place & better price. they measured her strap put pins and when we went back it was wrong but we were able to fix it that day.
i think its a great place to find a dress....maybe not the alteration.
