Just Got Engaged

I got engaged last week and would like an August/September 2006 wedding. Is this at all possible???

I don't know where to begin. I'm thinking venue first.

Can you recommend some good websites that have a comprehensive list of venues?

It is possible, but get on it fast. Go see what halls are open in Aug and Sept. Also go see about where you want your ceremony. If its a Church, I would see what date they have open and work from that.
The rest of the vendors will be fine.
I would go look for dresses also, alot of designers take a while to come in.

I think you could definitely plan a wedding for the fall, you just have to get moving right away!
What kind of place are you looking for, how much do you want to spend?

Congrats!! You can certainly plan a wedding for August or September '06. The fact that you are flexible with your date should make negotiating with a hall easier, since they would like to have all their dates booked, and once you find something you like, you can pick from their available dates and work on pricing.

If you want to plan your wedding for 06, I recommend staying off these boards - they just breed procrastination!

Wedding Site and Services was my bible when finding a venue.

Congrats and Welcome. Don't Worry...my friends booked their July 2nd wedding at Chateau La Mer just this past Saturday. You still have options, just start looking now.

Congrats.. you need to find a place so you can have a date.. if you are not getting married there then the next step is to book that...

Once that is done.. then start with the vendors.. if there is one going on go to a showcase..

I was engaged for 11 months and everything was so wonderful and I even had time for all the little details. You could do August or September for sure.

Congrats!!! I've known people that pulled their wedding together in 7 months and 2 months, so it can be done, but you have to get moving!!!
