Just got engaged!

My name is Kim and I get engaged last week. I am not sure what to do first. New to the boards, and open to ideas!

Welcome and congrats!!!

It's probably best to start off with looking online at reception halls and then begin visiting halls! You should also check out the forum on this site 'The Brides Review' where brides write a review about their wedding and a lot of them post pics. HTH!

weclome and congrats

If you plan on getting married in a church I would suggest that first and then you should look at the RH's. Then you can do the other vendors in whatever order you want. good luck if you need anything just post and we will be glad to help you out.

welcome and congrats!!!!

i def agreee with Kim...if you are having a church ceremony book that first....

i would start looking at all the different and try to establish a budget.....there are halls at all different price points..some halls have a site fee....just not tha t a saturday night in may thru october (at some halls) is considered peak season). Fridays, Saturday Days and Sundays will save you money in any season, and a lot girls are now doing thursday nites too!!

i will bump you the vendor list- its all the places some of the 11'ers looked at the booked for all vendors!

Hey!! Congratulations on your engagement!!! :) Like the other girls said, if you know you want a certain church, i would check with them first and make sure they can do your date and then start looking for reception halls (RH). If you plan on getting married at the hall then it's ok to start looking now. You will get great prices for february!! good luck!!

Re: Just got engaged!

congrats!!! first i would think about your budget and then come on here to see what things cost, etc. i say budget first because when before you go to rhs, you should know that winter months, sundays and fridays and afternoons are all things that bring down cost and when its vica versa (saturdays, nights, warmer months), cost goes up. so youll have to decide whats important to you and go from there. then if you have a church/temple that you MUST get married in , check them for dates first and then start going to reception halls with your date. if you are open to where you are gonna get married or going to have it at the reception hall, then you can go there first.

after that, youll want to start looking at vendors, and come back here to find reviews, etc. cuz if we all tell you know about them now, you will be omgggggg soooo overwhelmed!!!

CONGRATS again!!!!!!!!

Congrats and welcome!!
The first thing you want to do is look at halls and ceremony sites if not at the hall. Everything else will depend on those 2 choices.

We are all here to help. Dont hesitate to ask
