just got to work

The main rd the bus takes was at a standstill and I had to walk a mile uphill to get to my office! I was an hour late and all the major highways were underwater, it was mayhem. How were your commutes?

I usually take the Northern State, but heard on news 12 before I left that there were two overturned vehicles in different spots, so I opted for Jericho Trnpk from Commack to Old Westbury, it took me just about an hour.

Last time we had that bad storm, I didn't make it in!

No flooding just traffic!!! Northern Boulevard was a parking lot.

I wish I could work from home-or better yet retire already

that's all right, it was like a fun adventure and as an added bonus I don't have to go to the gym tonight. Down side is I am sticking to my clothing, I know, TMI

Jess... Maybe this will give you an idea about how my commute was...

My ride in from LI via LIRR was normal (I think at least... I slept from point A to point B). Usually I'll walk from Penn to where I work (Park Ave) but decided since it was raining to take the Subway... I head over to where the 1, 2, and 3 are... out of service... so I head over to the A, C, and E and the E train is only running uptown to 42nd street as the A train (). I made it to 42nd street and thought I should have no problem taking the Shuttle to Grand Central, my reasoning, it's underground all the time, no flooding. Well, after making my way thru the hoards of sweaty people (traffic on the Southern State is a BREEZE compared to this) I make it to the Shuttle only to find out... not running . I have to walk alllll the way back to the 7 train (still with hoards of sweaty and disgruntled people) and take that to Grand Central... when I finally hit the street... it's bone dry and the sun is starting to come out. This is my life. Oh yeah and in the midst of all of this, I step in gum, which somehow ends up on the inside sole of my flip flop.

I finally got to work at 9 after stepping off the LIRR at 7:50. I could've walked from Penn to work and back at least 3 times in that span of time.

Looks like it's going to be a liquid lunch today!

Me too! I couldn't get in...no subway service by me and the LIRR I would take is closed.

Wow, it was that bad? FH called a little while ago and said it was horrible...I woke up at one crack of lightning at 6:20, but fell back to sleep. Glad I wasn't out in that and also glad you ladies are ok!

my commute was alright...my train was a lil late, but not stuck....the only thin was Penn Station was a zoo when I got off the train. So many people you could barely move, but once I got out it was okay.

Yeh I had a crazy morning to. HAd to turn around about a gizzilon times because of flood. Didnt want to be one of those people who thought they could make it through and get stuck in water.
