Just had to tell you...

I had a sort of epiphany this past week. I have just been going crazy with the last minute details (17 days to go).......and then here was the icing on the cake:

We get a phone call from our photographer - we had plans to take all of our pics at EAB before the ceremony. Our photographer had not yet received the voucher to use the building, so called them again on Thursday. EAB told him they had made a mistake - that a party was booked for that day, and they were not having any photo sessions. I should have FREAKED right? Well......it all started to hit me. I realized for the first time that the situation was just completely out of my control. I could sit there and cry, scream, go nuts - but instead I just calmy talked to my FH about it and said let's just list the options. We've ultimately decided to take all our pics at my FMILs house. She has a fireplace with a mantle - a piano - a bay window.....move the couches out of the way, and *poof* - instant backdrop. And it's FREE!! And how priceless to have photos in the house my FH grew up in.

I guess what I'm saying, after almost 2 years of planning, I've finally learned not to sweat the small stuff...our day will be wonderful no matter what.

Now, who wants to remind me that I just said that in 2 weeks.....

Marni, I am so proud of you...taking it all in stride. You go girl, sweat the things you can control and save your energy for other things. ALl the best it is going to be the fastest 17 days of your life.

Good for you! I keep saying that wedding planning taught me not to sweat the small stuff. I guess like in life, you need to choose your battles and realize some things are just out of your control.

I had an 'epiphany' like you about a week or two before the wedding. Instead of stressing out (like I expected) a strange sense of calm came over me. I actually enjoyed the last minute hustle and bustle. I realized it was all for us, and we were finally going to be married!

And you're right-your day will be wonderful!!!!!!
