And I have to say, David's Bridal have some pretty nice dresses...
any of you chickys going there? just wondering..there are 2 that I would love to try on there and they are under 1000$

I tried on dresses there, they did have some very gorgeous dresses! I know a few girls on this board have gotten their dresses from there.

I got my dress from David's and I love it! I only paid $550 and it is gorgeous - it is not cheap material or cheap looking!

I'm only looking at Maggie's dresses and David's b/c I could spend the $4K I'm gonna save on things like more expensive flowers, invites, favors, etc....

Megan ('Just Meg'!) tried on a bunch there and raved about the experience. Pics are in her album too - she found some really pretty dresses.

On 'The Early Show' a few days ago, they had a segment called 'Chic on a Shoesring' where two brides would come out on stage, one wearing a ridiculously expensive dress, and one wearing a cheap one. People had to guess which was which, and the votes were always pretty evenly split (the 'judges' were a good 10 ft. away and couldn't notice stitching, beading, etc). Of course, I could do it because I'm obsessed with photos of wedding gowns ('Fools! That's an Oscar de la Renta!' ) but the point is, as long as the dress is pretty, and is flattering on you, that's all you need to look great.
