Just met with Duet....and

I dont really know what to say....we met with one guy and he didnt speak english that well it was very hard to understand him...we came in sat down looked throught the albums came and sat with us and then just looked at us and said these are our prices...no explanation of how they work and what they specialize in....I just cant believe i wasted my time on that,,,,,did anyone ever have an expierence with them....there work is gorgeous but i was just taken back by there approach.

I felt the same way after I met with them... but I have heard they have a great team and they do really great work.
I ended up going with Velvet Studio.

im really surprised about that. i met with eric. he was hard to understand, but the more we talked the better it was. im sorry you had a bad experience.

Im meeting with them tommorrow....The guy i spoke with on the phone was so nice and im really excited to meet with them....Thanks for the input...FI said hes not going to to meet with anymore because of this one expierence....i know hes joking but i felt like how can u try to sell someone a package like that,

we met with Eric... there was a communication problem at first, but the more we talked it got better. We loved the service they provided and we are happy that we booked them as our videographer.

we met with Eric too... and I can see there being a communication problem, however Alberto our photographer speaks english very well. I'm sorry that your felt disappointed.

Thats basically how meeting with them went- I felt that their pictures spoke enough. And by the time I got to them I had seen 14 halls and 5 photographers and i was sick to death of people selling me crap. I actually found it nice. I hate too much talk.

But my photographer is Alberto. He speaks much better english with a very very faint accent. I had no problems understanding him at all.

we had the complete opposite meeting, but this was awhile ago...actually I was there today working with Chris on my wedding albums and he was just as nice and even willing to add extra pictures for me...

There was no communication issues for me...

there are some complaints I have with Duet, but part of which I blame myself for not being as specific as I should have been...which would go for any photographer I would think

I agree.....I looked at TWELVE photographers and I booked Duet, why because I don't need to have a conversation with them when they're taking my pics, but because I want beautiful pictures....and that's exactly what I've seen here on LIW- do a search on the Brides Review board you will find some amazing pics.....and for the quality you just can't beat the price. We're having Jay's team, I've heard he's quite funny and his english is better than Eric's.

duet was great when we met them....very patient and nice....and their work speaks for themselves....they dont really have that pushy salesman attitude.....so that may throw you off.....but we chose them for that reason.. and the great $$

did you meet with Eric? He is the only one there that's hard to understand IMO. I had Woo and Joseph and after signing only dealt with Sue and everything was fine.

Met with Eric also..same experience but as stated above, I was relieved to get away from the sales pitch for once. Plus he kept walking away, giving my FH and I some time to discuss things privately. Each time he came back, we were able to negotiate a bit more.

And a good friend had Jay's team last year and said he was hilarious and spoke English much better. That is who we booked, and I think his work is amazing.

I am VERY surprised as well. I will admit, they have an accent, but by no means IMO are they difficult to understand.

We met with Eric and he explained everything to us in great detail and we booked on the spot.

I agree, I was really happy with Duet and was able to understand Jay fine on the day of the wedding.

Have you met with Patken? They are a recommended vendor for Jericho Terrace?

There are many reviews of them on here. That is who I am using.

If you are meeting with Duet they will work with you on price...
He sat us down and showed us a 2006 price list (I was there the Fri after Christmas) the package he showed us the price was close to 5K but that included everything we wanted

Once I started asking how much it would decrease if I started taking things off (ie. both parent albums) he got the idea and started lowering the price,and also gave us the extra hour we needed for free, 100 thank yous instead of 50, engagement shoot, CD with all the proofs on it, etc...

Of course, I am getting married in the 'off season' so that may have impacted the 'extras' somewhat.
