I too have to add that I'm surprised you had such a bad experience.

We met with Eric and yes he has an accent and there were a couple of words I didn't understand right away, but he was very nice, took his time with us and answered all of our questions.

I thought he was very friendly and went over everything and threw in extras etc. I haven't met with anyone else yet, but have heard that Eric is the hardest to understand but everyone else's accent is less.

I too think that the work is what's important. I don't want them talking to me all day on my wedding day.

So sorry you werent happy with your meeting. I only speak from experience, and I'm pleased to say I was extremely happy with their work. Although Eric doesnt speak english very well, the rest of his team speak fluently. Other than our first meeting with them, everything was done through email. During our wedding day, I provided them with a VERY SPECIFIC list of pics and there were no questions. Each photographer had a copy of the list and it was cute to see them literally checking each one off. I never once felt uncomfortable and communication was excellent. Same goes for designing the album. I forgot who I dealt with, but he spoke fluent english and everything was done as asked.

For those of you that have upcoming appointments, dont hesitate to change the package to your needs. Eric is very understanding and is more than willing to negotiate prices and throw extra things in. Just ask!!

duet was great when we met them....very patient and nice....and their work speaks for themselves....they dont really have that pushy salesman attitude.....so that may throw you off.....but we chose them for that reason.. and the great $$

All I have to say is go with your gut feeling...

IMO Jay and Alberto are the most talented photographers...the others so so.

this is exactly why you need to make your own decision, and not rely on the views of others...whether friends or girls on LIW. get recommendations, check them out yourself and then make your own decision...everyone has their own likes, tastes and opinions.

you can find 2 people who have completely opposite opinions on the same vendor and both insist their opinion is the correct one.

go with your gut and instinct

totally agree!

I had the same experience..

but found it to be fine.
any questions I had were answered, and that was all i really cared about.

they werent trying to sell me anything, which was great. I had that experience with a few vendors and felt more like they just wanted me to book for the money.

eric answered my questions, sue was very helpful/responded quickly to emails.

When we met with them... we also met with Eric... I didn't think he was hard to understand at all. He explained everything as far as technique and the difference between film and digital etc.... I am someone who asks a lot of questions.. so we seemed to be talking for a while. He wasn't trying to sell anything.. he basically showed us their work, showed us a video, showed us the prices.. and we negotiated down. We ended up booking them as they were the cheapest we found and will 'hopefully' get what we want.

We have Jay's team and has engagement shoot... he speaks perfectly fine english.

I wouldn't count them out because of the accent.

Eric is a wonderful man... his Enlgish is a little hard to understand but Duet work speaks for itself.

My photgrapher is Jay and can I say besides John of Flower Michele he is my next husband in line!!

If you like their go back in and speak with them- I can HONESLTY say that Eric is VERY harmless and a doll to work with.

i just know of one bride on the 06 board, who said she just found out they forgot to show her about 1000 proofs . . . !!!!!

I think they had printed around 800 proofs for her that they judged to be the best shots (Eric told me they would be doing this for me too), and she was saying that there's a lot of good pics on the disc. I'm also getting the disc with my package, so I will definitely be reviewing it before I pick my album pictures.
