As of right now, with just MY guest list...I have 136 people! That's NOT including FH's friends and FMIL's list of family and friends and NOT including the family I have overseas! HOW did you all cut your guest lists down???? I don't know how to do this without offending someone.....we have a 175 minimum....

Hmmmmm.....well, really take a look at your list and you can kind of gather the people that are probably not going to be able to make it. Then I think they say 25 percent of those you invite would not be able to come. I didn't use this but some people are using the A and B lists and traditionally, its worked really well!

I think you should first see what the total number is. It might not be as bad as you think. Then I would cut out all 'and guests' unless they are in a long term relationship, wouldn't know anyone else, or are in the BP.
We were having guest list issues the other day and just cut out some people that we aren't as close to, mainly FH old co-workers

Its a nice problem to have, isn't it? TOO MANY people you'd love to have at your wedding!
Anyway, I ended up cutting the 'and guests' down, and I do have the stinky A list/B list (consisting mostly of work people.) When it comes to where FI and I work, we do have the 'circle' situation, where if we invite (or not invite) 1 person, we have to invite (or NOT invite) the whole circle. And we ARE friends with everyone we work with, and we both hang out with our respective co-workers after hours, but really, we had to cut somewhere. So we have certain 'circles' on the b-list. Is this an option for you and your fiancee?

i made a rule re: friends.
No one is invited that we have not talked to in the past year.
that eliminated a bunch off the bat.

175 min...that's a lot...even to meet that number i'd say invite at least 200, proly more, depending on percentage would have to travel. i literally made my list with FH without any cuts, then we went through and asked ourselves if that person/s would honestly proly come, erring on the side that they would-even if it was iffy, and we had about 20% attrition, so with 200 invited we only think about 160 at best will be there.
so its pretty much a math problem after you get the entire list together, and then you cut. how you make cuts is very personal and entirely up to you and FH.

i'm having the same prob i have a 175 min. and was hoping for only 200 guest max well after completing our lists...i suddenly have 296! WHO ARE THESE PPL ON MY LISTSS? So Fh and I decided to start cutting ppl out after the holidays were over, and now that they're over, we're still dreading it....but since i'm sick this week...we;ll have to do it next week.
For friends, we decided if we're not that close, and haven't seen them in a year, take em off.
