Just registered for cord blood storage

Has anyone else done this? I used CBR. What company did you use?

I registered and used CBR also. It was really simple and the guy came to pick up the kit about 2 hours after I delivered.

I used CBR too. The package they sent me had so much more information than viacord. They also told me (I dont know how true it is) that 42 people have succesfully used their cord blood as opposed to 14 from Viacord. etc..

I pray none of us ever have to use it. Im so glad Im doing this though.

Can you tell me the benefits of cord blood storage?

You would really need it in case of health problems, right?

Yes, dont quote me but they take the stem calls from the cord blood and that can be used to treat leukemia etc.. Its usually a good match for family members.

Since Anthony was already a bone marrow donor to a stranger..(which saved his life from leukemia 2 years ago) He agreed it was incredibly important to have.

I hope we wopuld never have to use it, but if we did then at least wed have it. Id hate for one of us to get sick and say I wish we had done this KWIM?
