none of the bp girls have any $ to do anything for my bach. party
really?
i mean really girls? you couldnt put some money aside or something for the past 1.5 years?
i got engaged in march 2009...you guys knew you were in my bp by like june 2009....
idk whether to be upset, mad or agree w/them
i'm confused?!?!!
i mean yes i get it, we (women) are a little more cautious w/$$$, we save, we watch our expenses
but really?
what abt the dress and your hair / makeup
oh and i do hope you guys know you should still bring a gift.....
does that mean they wont have money for these things either?

I'm sorry sweetie, that is really not fair. I totally get not having money but like you said they had a year and a half to plan for this. Did you talk to them? Maybe you can just do something else that doesn't require going away for the weekend? Hope everything works out.

I am so sorry you are going through this crap. AND I think it's total crap.
I am an OOT bride and all of my bm but one have to buy plane tickets, dress and hotel. And let me tell you I KNOW they don't make a lot of money, but they are all willing and more than happy to do it.
I think you should gently talk with them about all of the upcoming responsibilities. I am sure it will work out in the end.

Let's be hopeful that they are trying to save money to buy everything else dress, make up, your gift etc..that goes with your wedding. Try to have something in town where they won't feel force to shed too much money.
Good luck dear...

It's always difficult to talk about money with people. They might have other expenses that you are not aware of. That aside, it would probably be a good idea to ask them what their budgets are for a dress etc. You could say 'Do you think $___ is a good price for this bm's dress' etc. As for a bach party. I'm not having one b/c my bm's are from out of state, are currently planning their own weddings and are paying mortgages. We are instead going to have a picnic at the beach with a bunch of girls when they get here the week before. Maybe you could do something like that? All in all, you don't want them to resent being involved in your special day.

you should ask the BMs if they can afford to pay for dress & alterations, hair & makeup, etc ... and if they can't, tell them that you would understand. I know it's your wedding and you want to have your girlfriends be a part of the bridal party, but if they can't afford it, then it'll cause more stress than it's worth.
OMG if they say no i'm going to lose it... what if they drop??? and we end up w/ 7 gms and like 2 bms
omg omg omg
Ive had some of these issues as well... I also cconsidered asking them if they really wanted to be in the bm party but didnt bc i was afraid of the same thing - that they would drop!

Posted by mariedsgn We should a LIW bach Party,:
I was just wondering myself, Every board on here has GTG's and theres been showers too. Why dont LIW's girls get together and throw the Batchlorette to end all Batchlorette parties., Like a Batchlorette showdown !! On another note- Im sorry your bridal party is punking out on you, I felt bad about my sisters Batchlorette party planning as MOH I passed duties off to her Best friend who was a little more excited to plan it.

Re: just spoke w/moh -vent
My final word to my BMs about a Bach party was this... 'I love you all very much and appreciate you being in my BP. I have always wanted to go to Cancun and will be doing so for my bach party. If you cannot go, I completely understand.' I, then, planned the trip myself. Four out of eight BMs went. And I completely understood. But, for your MOH to say that the girls can't do ANYTHING is completely ridiculous.
