just started looking at photographers!

Hi,

We just started looking at photographers/videographers... I know prices vary depending on what you want but can anyway give me a range of what a reasonable one would cost!

Also what are some key questions me and FH should ask!

As part 3 of my question, can anyone recommend who they are using-- preferably someone with offices in Nassau or NYC!

I would check out Duet - they have great packages, do great work and are reasonable!

I would say the average price is about $3k-4k. But then theres many girls whose packages are in the $5k range but sometimes that includes videography.

theres also some you can find in the $2k-3k range. Then you have some photographers that are over the $5k range. But on average what ive seen girls on here pay is usually anywhere from $3k-5k

when i got quotes last year (numerous companies) $4k seemed to be average for photo and about $2k for video.. don't know if prices have gone up though..

BTW, those were not the smallest packages offered.. so could prob find for less if you don't want a lot of extras

I know he is far, but Marcophotoinc.com is my photographer. He has pretty reasonable prices, I loved his payment plan, and he has great pictures. He is unfortunately in Bohemia, all the way out in Suffolk. I do have to say though, just like I have told many other brides, I sat with other photographers such as Bella, and some other photographers, and they just didn't compare to the work that marco does. From my POV anyway.

He starts at about 2,500. Video is a set price of I think 1,700 I believe. It's up to you.

Congratulations! I slaved over this decision. Here's what I found, but remember, this is my taste:

The best photog on the planet- Mariann from Blue Daisy Photography. She was booked on my day.

Second best- Yun Gen Yang- yangphoto.com. He was awesome, but I just couldn't afford him.

I went with Duet, because they offered a lot for the money, and their photos are beautiful. And frankly, after a while, I just couldn't look anymore.

There are other photogs people love, like Thomas Paul (really great pics-sort of regret not looking into him further)

Angelica Glass (pricey)

I guess it depends on how much you want to spend and what kind of style you like. Also do you want an album, parent albums, a package that includes enlargements? My package included some things but other stuff was a la carte. Its nice so you can customize what you want.

My photographer is in NYC - KAtie Lyman. See some pics in my album. I can send you my slideshow if you are interested.

We used Andreas Rentsch. He has an office in Huntington and one in Manhattan.

here are two sites to check into for excellent photogrpahers. I think you can find some for $1500 all the way up!!

Definitely keep an eye out for a photojournalism style or something more traditional. I didn't know to look for that when I was first searching for a photog and it really would've helped if I had a clearer idea in mind when I booked appointments.

WOW!!! Thx ladies! I wish picking my photog/video vendor could be a group effort!!! :) It seems like as soon as your done with one part of planning and think nothing can be harder than that... guess what...thx again!!!
