I just got engaged last Sunday! HOORAY!! And now I would like to start the search for a place to hold a reception. We are looking for something low key....not too fancy and a little out of the normal. I actually saw a 'barn' in queens that looked neat only it can not accomodate enough people. :( Does anyone have any suggestions for a unique reception spot? Thanks for the help!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!! I got so many great idea here and made SO many friends. Best of luck!
As far as reception sites I loved Old Field Club, it's right on the water - it's in eastern Suffolk, though, not sure where you were looking.

Congradulations!! Have fun planning, you'll love this site! I think the picture of the Old Field club is beautiful. I don't know of any others...but that one looks nice. Good luck!

Have you looked into any of the vinyards out on the North Fork. I dont mean Vineyard Caterers. Many of the actual wineries do weddings. I got married at Palmer Vineyards.

We went with the Three Village Inn because it had a historic/bed and breakfast feel....we liked how quaint it was but our room holds up to 200 people. So we got to have a pretty big wedding in a cozy space!!

Congratulations and welcome! I second the Old Field Club in Setauket. I would also check out The Riviera in Massapequa.
