Just starting to plan a wedding. NEED HELP!!

Hello all. I just got engaged 2 months ago and we are planning on having our wedding in Novemeber of 2005. We don't have a lot of money and don't want to spend a fortune, but we want something nice. Can anyone recommend any halls on Long Island that are reasonable. Please help me. I don't even know where to start. Thank you in advance.

First of all, if you really want to save lots of money, consider a Friday night, Saturday/Sunday afternoon or a Sunday night. Saturday night is the most expensive. Second, you were smart to pick November because it's an off-season month so you will already get good rates.

As far as reception sites that have reasonable prices, try the following (I added links to the webpages where I knew them):

Sunset Harbour East Patchogue
Huntington Townhouse Huntington
Stuart Thomas Manor Farmingdale
Stewart Manor Country Club Stewart Manor

Also try Manor East and Mediterranean Manor. I'm sure the girls on here will have some more for you. Good luck and congrats on your engagement!

Try The Historical Thatched Cottage in Centerport. I recently attended a wedding there. Was nice because one bride at a time and also the service was amazing. I also know it is affordable.

Welcome and congrats on your engagement!!

If you're not having a very large guest list (up to 150 or so) then I would highly recommend the Riviera in Massapequa! Their prices are terrific! The Riviera has a rustic, medieval feel to it with dark wood, and a high cathedral ceiling - very charming and romantic, in my opinion. They only do one wedding at a time. Also, if you REALLY want to save money, they have Thurs. night weddings there, for a very discounted price. (That's what we're doing!)

Best of luck with your search!

Congrats on your engagement. Welcome to the boards. I highly reccomend the Meadow Club. also theres The three village inn, Windows on the Lake, The Larkfield Manor.

As long as your willing to be flexable with your dates than you might be able to get a great deal.
